I loved this Shreveport engagement session! I don’t get to shoot a ton of engagement sessions in Shreveport, Louisiana anymore so this was such a treat. We met at the Red River wildlife refuge in Bossier city before heading to downtown Shreveport to take a few shots off of Clyde Fant Parkway. I made her walk a good mile in high heels. She was a little over it by the time we got back haha! They followed me to Clyde Fant Parkway where we pulled over by the huge rock formation.
If you’ve ever driven on Clyde Fant Parkway, you may have noticed some large boulders on the shore side of the roadway near the I-20 underpass, north of Veteran’s Park. If you noticed them, you may have wondered, “What’s the deal with those big rocks?” I know I did when I was scouting different locations for engagement sessions in Shreveport. Well, they are stones that were moved here millions of years ago down the Red River from an upthrust of sandstone called the Wilcox Formation. They make a great location for an engagement session in Shreveport!
I think a lot of people don’t realize how many cool locations there is for engagement sessions in Shreveport, Louisiana. We may not have mountains or beaches but there are a few hidden gems around here!
A couple of months later I shot Abbie’s bridals at Lake Bistineau State Park and her wedding at The Southern Bell Wedding Venue in April.
